Nanosensorics
The lecture is given in English language.
New Schedule:
The lecture „Nanosensorics“ will be held weekly in room -1607 at the university site Wilhelmshöher-Allee on Wednesday between 17:15 till 19:00 p.m., starting from 26. October 2011.
Goals:
The student should obtain an overview over various optical measurement techniques and the corresponding physical fundamentals. Based on these principles the student should get a feeling on the problematic, which have to be faced by the industrial production of sensors.
Contents:
Optics and wave theory, introduction into modern imaging techniques and analytical concepts used in current research, methods for stress measurement, insight into the state of the art of sensor research and industrial applications.
- repetition on optics, required for understanding the lecture
- repetition on waveguides
- optical sensors and devices
- fiber sensors, fiber bragg grating sensors
- interferometry, white-light-interferometer, integrated interferometers
- thin film deposition and thin film measurement (ellipsometry, RHEED)
- measurement techniques of stressed thin layers
- absorption, transmission, gas sensors (ICAS, mode competition)
- photoluminescence
- scanning electron microscopy / transmission electron microscopy
- scanning force microscopy – cantilever based sensors
- magnetoresistive effects
Contents of the lecture will be examined by a colloquium, lasting 20 minutes.
